In-Person Classes!
Hello karate family,
We are excited to announce we are reopening the studio in phases. Our priority is to help our karate family feel safe and comfortable, and believe the best option at this time is to temporarily hold both in-person and virtual classes.
For those who might feel uncomfortable coming in-person, we will continue to hold virtual Zoom classes on Monday and Wednesday. In-person classes will be held on Tuesday,Thursday and Saturday. Everyone will be able to make a personal decision to participate in virtual or in-person classes, or feel free to do a combination of the two.
30 minute in-person classes offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday will be limited to 10 students. To keep class size limited, YOU MUST SIGN-UP ONLINE FOR EVERY CLASS YOU ATTEND! If you show up to a class you have not registered for, you will be sent home. Sign up for a time slot that corresponds with your age group. Once a class reaches the 10 student cap, it will no longer be visible on the calendar. Moving forward, sign-ups will be available one week in advance. To allow more students the opportunity to participate, PLEASE ONLY SIGN-UP FOR ONE TIME SLOT PER DAY.
For those students in Black Belt Training and Leadership, in-person weapons/sparring curriculum will be offered as a separate class, taught Saturday morning. Again, please only sign-up for one time slot per day. Virtual classes will no longer be offered on Saturday.
This schedule is temporary. After we see how much interest we have in the in-person classes, we’ll make adjustments as needed.
For everyone’s safety, we will continue to practice increased cleaning procedures such as, frequently wiping down/sanitizing door handles and surfaces. Karate Equipment and apparatus will be sanitized between each class. All students will be expected to sanitize or wash their hands before and after classes.
As your class ends, please quickly grab your gear and exit the facility. If you arrive to BLK early, please wait in the car, and enter when your class starts. We want to keep the number of people inside the studio to a minimum, and if possible, would prefer parents to wait inside their car instead of the bleachers for the time being.
We are asking our staff to practice good health habits. We will ask the same of you. Any student or family member inside of BLK who shows ANY sign of illness will be asked to leave and return when they are 100% healthy. We need ALL to respect our efforts to keep EVERYONE healthy. Please help us by doing your part.
We will keep you updated on the next phases of reopening as we continue to move out of this pandemic.
Thank you so much for all your support and patience as we have done our best to
navigate our way through this crisis. We look forward to seeing you next week!
Sincerely,
Bobby Lawrence Karate
